How we met

In April 2024, we matched at a time when we both thought we had life pretty well figured out, and had a clear sense of what mattered.

Ozzy made the first move. We made plans quickly, and the conversation never really slowed down.

Before we met, there was a sense that this was different.

The moment we knew

We knew the first date. It turned into one of those rare nights, like in the movies, where everything slows down and the hours slip by unnoticed.

Somewhere between the laughter and our first (and last first) kiss, we knew.

And it didn't take long for everyone around us to know it.

Within days, we were planning trips across the country, football games months away, and future adventures like it was the most natural thing in the world. There was no hesitation, no games, and no wondering. This was certain.

When you know, you know.

The proposal

In 2026, we traveled to Kauai to vacation and celebrate Christine's birthday. Ozzy suggested waking up early one morning for a sunrise hike he had "heard was amazing."

The sunrise really was breathtaking.

At the end of the trail, we arrived at Shipwreck Beach. We sat together, taking in the waves and the view, completely content. It was one of those moments where everything feels exactly right. Just the two of us, together.

Sort of.

Unbeknownst to Christine, a photographer was nearby, patiently waiting. After a while, Ozzy pulled Christine into a long hug. That was the signal to the photographer to get into position.

Then he asked the most important question of his life.

Christine's hands flew to her face as tears filled her eyes. Through a smile and happy disbelief, she said, "Yes, yes, so much, yes."

And just like that, the next chapter began.
